Abstract

Religious/spiritual beliefs and practices impact health outcomes at the individual and community level. However, many health professional training programs do not provide the knowledge and skills to assess and incorporate these beliefs and practices into care plans, health education practices or community-level policies. Through this project I am completing a literature review to identify resources which will be used to develop a library resource guide to help users 1) gain more knowledge about major religions and 2) learn how an understanding of religious/spiritual beliefs and practices can inform initiatives to improve health at the individual and community level.
